...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT VANCE...WARREN...CENTRAL
GRANVILLE AND NORTHWESTERN FRANKLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM EDT...

At 415 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles north of Henderson, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Henderson, Oxford, Warrenton, Norlina, Kittrell, Stovall, Middleburg,
Macon, Ingleside, and Gillburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
