Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
233 PM MDT Tue Jul 2 2024

.Discussion...

looking at the weather during the next 7 days, it is likely
going to be very dry from the Continental Divide westward
into western Colorado. East of this line, there will be a
chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms with
temperatures around seasonable values.

Mid level northwesterly flow is going to evolve over the
district during this time, and this will allow the winds
to increase over the higher terrain.

There will an uptick in critical fire weather conditions,
especially along the Continental Divide region, on July
4th.

Smoke dispersion will be good or better both tomorrow
afternoon and Thursday afternoon over the district.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
