Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
1229 PM MST Fri Jul 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions will persist through this weekend. Strong
high pressure will lead to extreme temperatures, with lower desert
highs reaching 112-120 degrees under sunny skies. Minimum RH
values will fall between 5-15% each afternoon with an overnight
recovery to 25-35% in South-Central AZ and 30-50% in most areas of
Southwest AZ and Southeast CA. Winds will remain fairly light and
follow typical diurnal and terrain patterns. Afternoon gusts may
reach up to 20-25 mph at times and the environment will be
favorable for dust devils. The hot and dry conditions will result
in increased fire danger.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
