Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
229 PM PDT Thu Jul 4 2024

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES OR610, OR611, and OR640
DUE TO WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE WA690 DUE TO WIND AND LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

.DISCUSSION...An upper-level ridge of high pressure will dominate
the weather pattern through next week. This will produce low
afternoon RHs, poor overnight recoveries, hot temperatures, and
mostly light, terrain-driven winds through next week. A couple
notable exceptions regarding wind include breezy conditions
Friday afternoon and evening in the Kittitas Valley as well as
locally breezy winds in central Oregon Saturday afternoon and
evening. Coupled with low RH, this will promote conditions
conducive to rapid fire spread for new and existing fires.
