...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following
  counties, Bergen and Passaic and southeast New York, including the
  following counties, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 730 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 527 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 1.50 Inches are
    expected over the area. Localized higher amounts are
    possible. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    New City, Newburgh, Middletown, West Milford, Ossining,
    Peekskill, Monsey, Nanuet, Ramsey, Ringwood, Haverstraw,
    Mount Kisco, Suffern, Mahopac, Monroe, Walden, West Point,
    Warwick, Goshen and Sloatsburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
