...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following
  county, Bergen and southeast New York, including the following
  counties, Bronx, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 805 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Yonkers, New Rochelle, White Plains, East Tremont, New City,
    Bergenfield, Ossining, Peekskill, Monsey, Nanuet, Haverstraw,
    Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Dobbs Ferry, Nyack, West Point,
    Tappan, Cold Spring, Greenwich and Riverdale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
