064 FXUS64 KOHX 020540 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 1240 AM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024 ...New AVIATION... .UPDATE... Issued at 835 PM CDT Mon Jul 1 2024 Another incredible night is on tap. Cool temperatures, low dew points and clear skies. If you want the windows open for some fresh air, tonight`s the night because these amazing conditions are going away starting tomorrow. The heat and Heat Index values will start building again due to southerly boundary layer flow. Look for highs in the low 90s with HI values nearing triple digits tomorrow afternoon. It will be dry again, but PoPs creep back into the forecast on Wednesday. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Tuesday) Issued at 1124 AM CDT Mon Jul 1 2024 What a day! Temperatures are sitting in the 70s to lower 80s with dew points in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Take it all in because this is it. We are back to our regularly scheduled summer tomorrow. The upper high will slide back east overnight and reassert its dominance starting tomorrow. Highs will be back in the 90s west of the plateau with dew points getting into the 70s again. We will remain PoPless through the short term forecast. && .LONG TERM... (Tuesday Night through next Monday) Issued at 1124 AM CDT Mon Jul 1 2024 The ridge remains intact to start the long term period. A couple scattered storms will be possible starting Wednesday afternoon. There appears to be some weakness along the northern fringes of the ridge Thursday and Friday which should allow storm coverage to be higher. Like the last forecast package, the NBM PoPs Thursday and Friday seem to be on the high side, so they were nudged down. All of the fireworks and cookouts will not be a wash out on Thursday, but there will certainly be some scattered activity to dodge. A weak front looks like it will make a pass through the area late Friday into Saturday bringing another temporary pause to the nasty heat. The front won`t be as refreshing as the one we have today, but highs will be knocked down into the 80s for most of the area on Saturday. In regards to any heat products this week, we will be below criteria today and tomorrow. Heat index values look like they`ll creep up above the 105 threshold on Wednesday and likely again on Thursday depending on storm coverage. A heat advisory will likely be needed for Wednesday at least along and west of I-65 and again on Thursday. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1238 AM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024 VFR conditions expected at all sites over the next 24 hours. Other than a few passing mid clouds tonight, skies will be mostly clear. Scattered cu may develop during the daytime hours on Tuesday. Light winds this morning will give way to around 10 knot winds out of the south during the daytime. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
