944 FXUS64 KOHX 280557 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 1257 AM CDT Fri Jun 28 2024 ...New AVIATION... .UPDATE... Issued at 753 PM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 Current temperatures across the area are mid 80s, but will fall in the 60s overnight. Tonight`s 00Z sounding displaying dry conditions aloft. Patchy fog in the Cumberland Plateau is expected in the early morning hours. Southerly winds set to transport warmer conditions Friday afternoon. Most will remain dry but some pop-up summertime thunderstorms possible tomorrow afternoon. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Friday) Issued at 1052 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 Yesterday`s frontal passage has completely cleared Middle Tennessee, but we may still see a few showers this afternoon in areas to the southeast of Nashville. By this evening, we will be rain-free. Temperatures today will top out in the 80s, but we`ll heat right back up starting tomorrow. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Thursday) Issued at 1052 AM CDT Thu Jun 27 2024 A lot of the moisture that headed south with yesterday`s fropa will drift back northward Friday and Saturday. In addition, the next frontal boundary will approach Middle Tennessee from the northwest this weekend. This will result in at least isolated convection tomorrow and tomorrow night, especially along the Cumberland Plateau, with more widespread activity developing Saturday, Saturday night, and especially on Sunday with the expected passage of this surface boundary. Temperatures on Saturday will be especially hot, and a Heat Advisory may been needed for Saturday as heat indices are expected to exceed 105F in many areas west of the Plateau. Temperatures will back off after Sunday`s fropa -- for a day -- but will spike upward starting on Tuesday, with Heat Advisory criteria possibly being met next Wednesday and Thursday. At this time, we are not outlooked for any severe storms, although the SPC does have a marginal risk area to our immediate north on Sunday. && .AVIATION...
