...Very Strong Thunderstorms Still Possible This Afternoon
Through Friday...

An unusually unstable airmass along with very warm surface
temperatures are bringing thunderstorms to the North Slope and
areas along the Arctic Coast this afternoon through Friday
afternoon. Some thunderstorms will be quite strong and capable of
producing hail approaching 1 inch in diameter, wind gusts up to
50 mph, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Most storms will
diminish after midnight tonight but a few may continue through
the night. Friday afternoon and evening will bring more strong
storms. Storms will move from south to north.

When thunder roars, go indoors.
