.DISCUSSION...A significant heat wave arrives today with
temperatures remaining well above average through the week. An
Excessive Heat Warning has been issued through next Tuesday night
(07/09/24) along with a Fire Weather Watch in effect form Friday
morning through Sunday evening. Temperatures are expected to get
into the high 90s to near 101F. Gusty northwest winds are
forecast both today and tomorrow with gusts up to 20 mph. Be sure
to abide by heat safety protocols and encourage individuals to
stay hydrated with plenty of water and electrolytes. Tonight,
expect even warmer conditions with minimum temperatures only
falling into the high low-to-upper 60s. Minimum relative humidity
will be in the teens to lower twenties, therefore recoveries will
not be ideal.
