944 FNUS53 KMQT 080847 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 447 AM EDT Mon Jul 8 2024 ...More Rain Showers and Storms This Afternoon and Evening... .DISCUSSION: Another low pressure brings rain showers and thunderstorms across the area this afternoon and evening save for possibly the Keweenaw. While no area-wide soaking is expected, we could see some heavy downpours in some of the stronger showers and storms. In addition, some of the stronger storms could produce some gusty winds and frequent lightning. In all, today should be fairly similar to yesterday, save the precipitation will occur over the east too today and the Keweenaw could miss out. Conditions also look to in general be more moist than yesterday, with the min RHs projected to be above 60 percent. The showers and storms die off tonight from west to east as the low continues northeast and we lose the heating from the sun. Late tonight, we could see some patchy fog over the east, and possibly the north central and around the Keweenaw as well; expect a full RH recovery across the area. On Tuesday, another weak low pressure looks to bring more light rain showers and thunderstorms over the interior areas by the afternoon hours.
