305 FNUS53 KMQT 040847 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 447 AM EDT Thu Jul 4 2024 ...Wetter Weather Returns This Evening through Friday... .DISCUSSION: Expect mostly sunny skies across the area to give way to clouds from the southwest as a low pressure moves towards central Wisconsin. Expect high temperatures today to be a few degrees cooler, particularly near Lake Superior where the lake breeze looks to have the biggest impact. In addition, winds look to be lighter and RHs look to be about the same, save for the interior west and far east where things look to be a bit drier. Rain showers and thunderstorms look to move from Wisconsin late this afternoon/this evening as the low pressure moves through the central Wisconsin towards northern Lake Michigan. The showers and storms look to move over the rest of the U.P. late tonight and continue through Friday. While a soaking rainfall is not expected for the area, we could see some localized spots get a couple of inches of rainfall via some heavy rain showers and thunderstorms. The rainfall looks to end Friday night/Saturday morning over the far east as the low lifts through Lake Huron into Canada.
