            *** 1 FATAL ***
            A 43-year-old male was pulled from the surf
            near the 500 block north of Daytona Beach.
            The man was caught in a rip current and a
            surfer in the area quickly intervened with
            the assistance of lifeguards and pulled the
            man to shore. The man was unresponsive and
            transported to a local hospital where he
            later died. He was vacationing with his
            family from West Virginia.
