...Gusty Afternoon Winds and Low Humidity Near Critical Thresholds
This Week...

A strong thermal trough will remain in place through early
Thursday, bringing moderate to locally poor recoveries to ridges
along with gusty northeast winds. Meanwhile, gusty afternoon
winds and low humidities will lead to elevated, possibly critical,
fire weather conditions. Strong high pressure develops for the
latter half of the week, bringing very hot temperatures and very
low daytime humidities through at least the weekend. While
afternoon breezes won`t be quite as strong as today and Wednesday,
the extreme heat, and long duration of the heat will allow even
typical afternoon breezes to result in dangerous conditions
favorable for the rapid spread of fire.
