...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following
  counties, Broward and Miami-Dade.

* WHEN...Until 130 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1222 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen during the last hour from the slow moving
    thunderstorms.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area with the ongoing moderate rains during the next
    hour. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
    Therefore, the Flood Advisory has been extended until 130 PM
    EDT this afternoon.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Davie, Plantation, Sunrise, Miami
    Gardens, Weston, Miami Lakes, Cooper City, Intersection I-75
    And Griffin Road, Sunshine Acres, Palm Springs North, Royal
    Palm Ranches, Country Club, Intersection Krome And U.S. 27
    and Pine Island Ridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
