993 FPUS74 KLUB 050334 NOWLUB Short Term Forecast National Weather Service Lubbock TX 1034 PM CDT Thu Jul 4 2024 TXZ034>038-040>044-050500- Hockley-Lubbock-Crosby-Dickens-King-Terry-Lynn-Garza-Kent- Stonewall- Including the cities of Levelland, Sundown, Lubbock, Wolfforth, Slaton, Ralls, Crosbyton, Spur, Dickens, Dumont, Guthrie, Brownfield, Meadow, Wellman, Tahoka, New Home, ODonnell, Post, Lake Alan Henry, Jayton, Aspermont, and Old Glory 1034 PM CDT Thu Jul 4 2024 .NOW... Through midnight...a decaying area of showers and thunderstorms will gradually diminish over the central and southeast South Plains, while additional isolated to scattered thunderstorms develop over the central and southern Rolling Plains. The most intense activity in the Rolling Plains will produce heavy downpours, cloud to ground lightning and wind gusts to 50 mph. Additional rain amounts of a few hundredths to a couple of tenths of an inch will be common, with localized totals in excess of a half inch. A few locations that could see a stronger storm include in or near Guthrie, Kalgary and Justiceburg. $$
