...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Missouri...Illinois...

  Mississippi River at Lock & Dam 21.

  Mississippi River at Quincy.

  Mississippi River at LaGrange.

  Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

  Mississippi River at Chester.

  Mississippi River at Grafton.

  Meramec River near Arnold.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Missouri...Illinois...

  Mississippi River at Canton.

  Mississippi River at Winfield.

  Mississippi River at Saverton.

  Mississippi River at Hannibal.

  Mississippi River at Louisiana.

  Mississippi River at Clarksville.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Lock & Dam 21.

* WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 21.9 feet, Near this level, the lock is closed to
  navigation.  This level will vary with circumstance.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 21.7
    feet early Friday afternoon. It will then rise to 21.8 feet
    Tuesday, July 09. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

  Heights Park is flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 18.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tonight and continue rising to a crest of 22.7 feet
    early Friday afternoon. It will then rise to 23.0 feet
    Tuesday, July 09. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 19.5 feet, BNSF Railroad main line begins to flood
  near the river gage in La Grange.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 16.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow morning and continue rising to a crest of 19.5 feet
    early Friday afternoon. It will then rise to 19.7 feet
    Tuesday, July 09. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Mel Price LD.

* WHEN...From late Thursday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Highway 94 and the east end of Harbor
  Point Road off of Highway 94 north of West Alton begin flooding
  within a foot or so of this height.  Also, the access road to the
  Lincoln Shields area off Highway 67 just west of the Clark bridge
  begins flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Friday morning and continue rising to a crest of 25.4
    feet early Monday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

  - At 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 24.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Friday morning and continue rising to 32.6 feet
    Tuesday, July 09. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

    ending at 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 16.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.2
    feet Friday morning. It will then rise to 19.5 feet Tuesday,
    July 09. Additional rises are possible thereafter.

    ending at 11:30 AM CDT Tuesday was 27.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.7
    feet early Saturday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
