281 WGUS83 KLSX 030423 FLSLSX Flood Advisory National Weather Service St Louis MO 1123 PM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024 MOC137-205-030630- /O.NEW.KLSX.FA.Y.0050.240703T0423Z-240703T0630Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Monroe MO-Shelby MO- 1123 PM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM CDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Missouri, including the following counties, northern Monroe and Shelby. * WHEN...Until 130 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1123 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Monroe City, Shelbina, Clarence, Shelbyville, Granville, Maud, Emden, Woodlawn, Hunnewell, Bethel, Leonard, Stoutsville, Duncans Bridge and Indian Creek. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
