...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the first Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot
  conditions with heat index values up to 114. For the second
  Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index
  values up to 114 expected.

* WHERE...Avoyelles, St. Landry, Lower St. Martin, Upper Iberia, and
  Upper St. Martin Parishes.

* WHEN...For the first Excessive Heat Warning, until 7 PM CDT this
  evening. For the second Excessive Heat Warning, from 11 AM to 7 PM
  CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

  Jasper, Northern Newton, and Tyler Counties.
