...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN BRUNSWICK...SOUTH
CENTRAL COLUMBUS AND SOUTHEASTERN HORRY COUNTIES THROUGH 445 PM
EDT...

At 422 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Shallotte to Surfside Beach. Movement was
south at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Shallotte, Sunset
Beach, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Myrtle Beach Airport, Little
River, Springmaid Pier, Garden City, North Myrtle Beach Airport,
Cherry Grove Inlet, Little River Entrance, Socastee, Iredell,
Carolina Shores, Calabash, Freeland, and Exum.

This includes the following highways...
 US Route 17 in Brunswick County between mile markers 1 and 17.
 SC Highway 31 between mile markers 6 and 24.
 SC Highway 22 between mile markers 24 and 26.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
