At 445 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Cherry Grove Inlet, moving east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... North Myrtle Beach, Sunset Beach, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, North Myrtle Beach Airport, Little River, Little River Entrance, Carolina Shores, Calabash, Seaside, Brooksville, Barefoot Landing Area Of North Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Sea Coast Medical Center. This includes the following highways... US Route 17 in Brunswick County between mile markers 1 and 2. SC Highway 31 between mile markers 18 and 24. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
