Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The overnight hours saw multiple rounds of showers and storms move
through the region, a few storms produced small hail and wind
gusts around 50 to 60 mph. Temperatures as of one in the morning
ranged from 67 in Oakley, Kansas to 70 in Burlington, Colorado.
Winds have varied in direction and speed due to the storms passing
through. The overall prevailing direction has been from the south
to southeast.

OUTLOOK... Storms are forecast to continue to move through much of
the region until sunset. By a few hours after sunset, most of the
storms should have dissipated or moved east with skies clearing
during the morning hours. Temperatures are forecast to warm into
the low 100`s and 90`s with southwesterly winds around 15 to 25
mph. This afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are forecast to
develop and move east across the region. A few storms may be
severe, with slightly higher chances in Kansas and Nebraska.
Strong wind gusts and large hail are the main threats. Storms are
forecast to diminish through the night with lows dropping into the
60`s. Tomorrow, a mix of clouds and sun is forecast through the
day. A few showers and storms could linger in the region through
the day. Highs are forecast to be cooler in the 80`s and low 90`s.
