...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT  THROUGH 100 AM MDT...

At 1227 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles southwest of Moab or near Dead Horse State Park, moving
southeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Dead Horse Point State Park.

This includes the following highways...
 Utah 279 between mile markers 0 and 1, and between mile markers 8
and 10.
 Utah 313 between mile markers 0 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
