...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
...REPLACES FLOOD ADVISORY...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central Nebraska, including the
  following county, Polk.

* WHEN...Until 1045 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to rise
  due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several
  hours for all the water from these storms to work through local
  drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 457 AM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing
    along the Davis Creek, resulting in the closure of state
    Highway 92 just west of Osceola. Between 2 and 3 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Davis Creek, Prairie Creek, Lincoln Creek, North Branch Big
    Blue River, Big Blue River and Clear Creek.
    Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Stromsburg, Osceola and Shelby.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
