...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT AREAS SOUTH OF COTTONWOOD IN
YAVAPAI COUNTY THROUGH 400 PM MST...

At 314 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Verde Village, or 10 miles northwest of Camp Verde, moving east at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Verde Village, Camp Verde, Montezuma Airport, Beaverhead Flat, Wet
Beaver Creek Day Use Area, Cottonwood Airport, Montezuma Castle
National Monument, McGuireville, Windmill Park, Out of Africa
Wildlife Park, Bridgeport, Fort Verde State Historic Park, Montezuma
Well, Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site, Lawrence Crossing, Middle
Verde, Jordan, Bignotti, Dead Horse Ranch State Park, and Rimrock
Airport.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 17 between mile markers 286 and 303.
 State Route 260 between mile markers 207 and 224, and near mile
marker 226.
 State Route 179 between mile markers 299 and 303.
 State Route 89A between mile markers 351 and 359.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
