...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT THE FOUR CORNERS AREA IN APACHE
COUNTY THROUGH 1100 PM MDT...

At 1019 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Chezhindeza Mesa, or 29 miles west of Shiprock, moving east at 15
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Windy Pinnacle Overlook, Royal Arch, Alcove Canyon, Chezhindeza Mesa,
Pastora Peak, Red Rock, Twin Falls, Red Mesa, Yazzi, White Ash Peak,
Teec Nos Pos, Cove, and Red Valley.

This includes Highway 160 between mile markers 449 and 470.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
