...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MST THIS EVENING FROM
CLARKDALE TO COTTONWOOD IN THE VERDE VALLEY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Arizona, including the following
  county, Yavapai.

* WHEN...Until 645 PM MST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes is
  imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 344 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
    Cherry Creek, Grief Hill Wash, Verde River, Oak Wash, Blowout
    Creek, Gaddis Wash, Oak Creek, Beaver Creek and Dry Beaver
    Creek.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Verde Village, Bridgeport, Cottonwood,
    Cornville, Cottonwood Airport, Beaverhead Flat, Montezuma
    Castle National Monument, Bignotti, Out of Africa Wildlife
    Park, Jordan, Dead Horse Ranch State Park.
  - This includes the following recreation areas and
    campgrounds...
    Red-Tail Hawk Loop Campground, Quail Loop Campground and
    Raven Loop Campground.

    This includes the following highways...
    State Route 260 between mile markers 207 and 218.
    Interstate 17 between mile markers 287 and 296.
    State Route 89A between mile markers 350 and 357.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
