The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Eastern Norman County in northwestern Minnesota...
  Southeastern Polk County in northwestern Minnesota...
  Mahnomen County in northwestern Minnesota...
  West central Clearwater County in northwestern Minnesota...

* Until 1100 PM CDT.

* At 1014 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Fertile to near Twin Valley, moving east at 50
  mph.

  HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Fosston, Mahnomen, Fertile, Twin Valley, McIntosh, Island Lake in
  Mahnomen County, and Waubun.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread
wind damage across the warned area. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy
structure and stay away from windows! These are dangerous storms.
Prepare immediately for large destructive hail capable of producing
significant damage. People outside should move to shelter inside a
strong building, and stay away from windows.
