...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM MDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
  following county, Dona Ana.

* WHEN...Until 100 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some
  low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1002 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall of up to 1.5 inches is expected over the
    area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    mainly rural desert areas of Southwestern Dona Ana including
    along  state highway 9

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
