...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Scott and Clinton
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The next statement will be issued by Tuesday afternoon at 1215 PM
CDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is possible
  due to forecasted heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.

* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 12.5 feet, Major Flood Stage. Water affects old U.S.
  Highway 61 near the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 11.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:30 AM CDT Monday was 11.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.5
    feet this evening. It will then rise to 12.7 feet early
    Saturday afternoon. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
