...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity for the
following rivers in Iowa...Illinois...

  Mississippi River at Bellevue LD12 affecting Jackson, Carroll, Jo
  Daviess and Clinton Counties.

  Mississippi River at Fulton LD13 affecting Whiteside, Carroll and
  Clinton Counties.

  Mississippi River at Dubuque LD11 affecting Jo Daviess and
  Dubuque Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Keokuk LD19.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 18.4 feet, U.S. Highway 61 closes at the bridge over
  the Des Moines River between Alexandria and Keokuk.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:40 AM CDT Monday the stage was 15.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Wednesday morning and continue rising to 18.5 feet
    Monday, July 08.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

  forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Bellevue LD12.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 20.1 feet, Basement flooding occurs in homes and
  businesses with seepage into yards in Savanna. Grain elevators are
  also affected. Water affects the lower portion of Marquette
  Parking lot. Water affects Vulcan and South Broad Streets in
  Sabula.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 18.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:30 AM CDT Monday was 18.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.3
    feet Friday morning.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
