Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
310 PM MDT Mon Jul 1 2024

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 494 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS
EVENING

.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns will remain limited today and tonight given a
moist airmass in place. Expect drying on Tuesday and Wednesday as
zonal westerly flow moves in over southeast Wyoming and western
Nebraska. Stronger westerly winds over Carbon and Albany county could
result in near-critical fire weather conditions on Wednesday afternoon.
Forecast guidance is a bit more muddled from midweek
onward however an area of low pressure may move in from the north
bringing more showery and unsettled weather by Thursday and Friday.
Regardless, no major fire weather concerns are anticipated this
week.
