1058 AM EDT Thu Jul 4 2024

A very warm and and humid airmass will remain entrenched over the
Keystone state from today into the beginning of the holiday
weekend.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop today, as a
front drops slowly southeastward into the area. A few storms
could produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall, especially across
southern Pennsylvania. Heat index values will reach the mid to
upper 90s in the valleys of south-central and southeastern
Pennsylvania.

The frontal boundary will remain draped across the area Friday
into Saturday, maintaining a daily chance of showers and storms.
Heat index values could approach 100 degrees across southeastern
Pennsylvania both Friday and Saturday. The front should finally
clear the area by Sunday, with slightly lower humidity expected.
