...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following county, Charleston.

* WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 132 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms from north Mount
    Pleasant north along the Highway 17 corridor to
    McClellanville. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
    begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5
    inches of rain has fallen since noon.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding. In addition, some dirt roads in the Frances Marion
    National Forest may become covered in water.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mount Pleasant, McClellanville, Isle Of Palms, Awendaw,
    Garris Landing, Bull Island, Price Inlet, Lighthouse Island,
    Cape Romain and Capers Inlet.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
