...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following counties, Berkeley and Charleston.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 253 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area.
  - Heavy rainfall continues to build into Mount Pleasant and the
    downtown Charleston area. Intense rainfall rates of 2 to 3
    inches per hour will be possible. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4
    inches can be expected through the mid to late afternoon
    hours.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Hanahan,
    Daniel Island, Downtown Charleston, James Island, West
    Ashley, Isle Of Palms and Sullivan`s Island.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
