...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the
  following counties, Berkeley and Charleston.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 407 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area.
  - Though rainfall has mostly ended across Mount Pleasant and
    the downtown Charleston area, rainfall amounts of 2 to 4
    inches have been reported over the last 1 to 2 hours.
    Flooding is ongoing, as the Charleston Police Department
    reports that approximately 30 roads or intersections are
    currently closed. There will likely be a lull in the rainfall
    for the next hour or so before the next round of
    thunderstorms and heavy rainfall move into the area.
    Additional flooding is expected through the early evening
    with the next round of rainfall.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Hanahan,
    Daniel Island, Downtown Charleston, James Island, West
    Ashley, Isle Of Palms and Sullivan`s Island.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
