Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
159 PM EDT Mon Jul 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Cooler temperatures and drier air are expected to continue into
Tuesday before transitioning into increased heat and humidity for
the last half of the week. Very isolated showers and
thunderstorms are anticipated for Tuesday with the drier airmass,
followed by isolated to scattered activity for the remainder of
the week. Despite the pockets of heavy rain on Sunday and chances
for more this week, the area remains dry overall due to a lack of
a widespread wetting rain. Because of this, fire weather concerns
remain high and are expected to continue to increase through the
week, especially with the Independence Day celebrations coming up.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog possible, mainly in the
southern Midlands and CSRA.
