...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CAMERON AND
SOUTHEASTERN WILLACY COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM CDT...

At 421 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Valley Baptist Medical Center Harlingen, or near Harlingen, moving
southwest at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Harlingen, San Benito, La Feria, Rio Hondo, Palm Valley, La Paloma,
Rangerville, Primera, Combes, and Doctor Hesiquio Rodriguez
Elementary School.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate Highway 69 E between mile markers 17 and 32.
 US Highway 281 between mile markers 824 and 826.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
