The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Narragansett Bay...

* Until 400 PM EDT.

* At 259 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 8 nm west of Cranston to 10 nm west of North
  Kingstown to 6 nm northwest of Westerly, moving east at 35 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in
           structural damage.

* Locations impacted include...
  Dutch Harbor Light, Mount Hope Bay, Castle Hill Light, Narragansett
  Bay, Quonset Point, Melville, Greenwich Bay, Popasquash Point,
  Warwick Light, Bristol Harbor, Plum Beach Light, Conimicut Light,
  and Sachuest Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
