.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Friday...
Hot and dry across the plains, with RH dropping to 10% during the
afternoon. Winds will remain light across the area, with most of
the area seeing 5-12 mph winds unless near convection. Showers and
thunderstorms are possible (10-20%) across the Front Range, Park
County, and Palmer Divide during the afternoon, with very little
rain, gusty winds, and a rumble or two of thunder.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday night through Tuesday...Hot and dry
through Sunday, with high temperatures between 95-104 below 6,000
feet elevation. Even the mountain valleys will be in the mid 80s
each day. Despite the hot and dry conditions, winds will be light
especially across the plains where there are near zero convective
chances. In the high country, afternoon showers and thunderstorms
are possible (20-40%) with light rain and gusty winds the main
impacts and isolated dry lightning expected. Hot temperatures will
continue on Monday with a better chance for precipitation,
especially over the high country. Cooler temperatures along with
increased precipitation chances are expected across the forecast
area beginning on Tuesday.
