Spot Forecast for Cribby Creek #201...AK DOF
National Weather Service ANCHORAGE AK
235 PM AKDT Sat Jun 29 2024

Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1600 AKDT on June 29.
.DISCUSSION...

Partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies will prevail through the
forecast period. A ridge of high pressure extending from west of
the Alaska Range north over the Alaska Interior will retreat to
the north overnight as an upper-level wave moves southeast to
northwest over interior Southwest Alaska through the day Sunday.
This feature will advect moisture over the forecast area by late
Sunday morning with widespread shower activity expected across the
Middle Kuskokwim Valley Sunday afternoon and evening. Although
cloud cover and cooler temperatures should keep thunderstorm
activity at bay, there is enough instability with this wave that
an isolated wet thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. If a
thunderstorm were to develop tomorrow afternoon or evening, it may
produce a period of brief, heavy rain and gusty winds. The best
chance for an isolated wet thunderstorm is southeast of the
forecast area, from Lime Village to Sleetmute.
