...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN SAN JUAN COUNTY
THROUGH 1130 PM MDT...

At 1056 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 11 miles south of Shiprock, moving northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Shiprock, Kirtland, Ojo Amarillo, Sanostee, Fruitland, Nenahnezad,
Red Valley, Upper Fruitland, Rattlesnake, and Tocito.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Heavy rains will cause water to pond on roads and in low spots. Fast
running water will quickly fill arroyos and ditches.
