...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN SAN JUAN COUNTY
THROUGH 415 PM MDT...

At 334 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Red Rock to 11 miles
northeast of Sanostee. Movement was north at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Shiprock, Kirtland, Nenahnezad, Red Valley, and Rattlesnake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor your preferred
media outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for additional information and
possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
