Winter Storm To Impact Parts Of The Midwest To Northern New England

A winter storm will slowly develop over the Ohio Valley through Wednesday before rapidly strengthening while shifting into southeastern Canada Thursday. A band of snow will develop over the Midwest today into Wednesday, with snow shifting to the interior Northeast on Wednesday night and Thursday. Heavy lake effect snow is expected in the eastern Great Lakes snow belts on Thursday and Friday.

Synopsis: High pressure over the western Atlantic will maintain southerly winds, breezy at times, through tomorrow afternoon. A cold front slowly moving across the Gulf will produce widespread showers and a few thunderstorms through Wednesday. Patchy sea fog is possible as well ahead of the front. SCEC to SCA conditions are likely Wednesday night into Thursday as increasing northwest winds and building seas impact the eastern Gulf as high pressure builds in following frontal passage.
