Heavy Mountain Snow and High Winds Shifts into the Intermountain West and Plains

A storm system will move bring heavy mountain snow and high winds to the Intermountain West and the Plains. Locally heavy rain from a nearly stalled front on the southern California coastline could cause flash flooding. A new storm will drop south along the West Coast and is expected to bring additional heavy mountain snow, especially, in California.

Fri: S wind 15 to 25 kt...rising to gales 35 kt. Combined seas 9 to 11 ft dominant period 12 seconds...building to 11 to 14 ft dominant period 11 seconds in the afternoon. Chance of rain.

Fri Night: S gales 35 kt...backing to SE in the late evening and early morning, then...easing to 30 kt early in the morning. Combined seas 12 to 15 ft dominant period 11 seconds. Rain likely.

Sat: SE wind 15 to 25 kt...backing to E 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves 7 to 10 ft...subsiding to 5 to 8 ft in the afternoon. Swell W 7 to 8 ft. Rain likely.
