Typhoon Bualoi Moving Away from CNMI; Strong to Severe Storms in the Southeast; Another Cold Western Storm

Typhoon Bualoi is moving northwest and away from CNMI, but heavy rain, flooding, and gusty winds will continue into Tuesday. A cold front moves into the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic with potential for severe storms with damaging winds and brief tornadoes. Out West, a new cold storm will bring mountain snow and strong winds, which will increase fire weather threats for portions of California.

Synopsis: A 994 mb low 210 nm NE of Saint Paul will move 200 nm N of Saint Paul and dissipate Tue afternoon. A 995 mb low 70 nm S of Dutch Harbor will move to 145 nm SE of Saint George Tue afternoon and then dissipate. A 988 mb low 475 nm south of Dutch Harbor Mon night will move to 100 nm Southeast of Sand Point and strengthen to 971 mb Tue evening. The low will then track over the AKPEN Wed afternoon at 967 mb.

The U.S. Coast Guard may cease broadcasting Navigational Telex (NAVTEX) over Medium Frequency (MF) after first ensuring the information contained in NAVTEX broadcasts is available via International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized satellite services. This notice requests public comment on the possibility of terminating the MF NAVTEX broadcast.
