Strong Storm to Move Onto the Plains and East This Week

A powerful storm will track across the Southwest with additional heavy precipitation and strong winds. This storm will track into the Plains and evolve into a heavy rainfall and severe weather threat from the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Mississippi Valley Thursday into Friday. The next system is forecast to arrive for the Pacific Northwest this week and into the weekend with wind, rain and snow.

Thursday: Southeast winds 15 knots, veering to southwest in the afternoon. Wind waves to 5 feet. Northwest swell 4 feet. Scattered showers.

Thursday Night: Winds variable less than 10 knots. Wind waves to 5 feet. Northwest swell 4 feet. Scattered showers.

Friday: Winds variable less than 10 knots, becoming northeast 10 knots in the afternoon. Wind waves to 4 feet. Northwest swell 4 feet. Scattered showers, mainly in the morning.

Friday Night: East winds 10 knots. Wind waves to 4 feet. Northwest swell 4 feet.

Saturday: East winds 15 knots. Wind waves around 5 feet. Northwest swell 3 to 4 feet.

Sunday: Southeast winds 15 knots. Wind waves around 6 feet. Northwest swell 3 to 4 feet. Isolated showers.
