Stormy Weather Along the East Coast; Mountain Snow and Valley Rain in the West

Showers and thunderstorms will linger along the east coast through this evening. Locally heavy rain is possible and may lead to isolated instances of flooding, especially in the Mid-Atlantic through the New England region. A front moving across the west will keep mountain snow and low elevation rain chances in the forecast through Friday. Heavy rain is expected in central/southern California.

Friday: Northwest wind less than 10 knots veering northeast 5 to 15 knots late. Partly cloudy. Waves 1 to 2 feet.

Friday Night: East wind 10 to 15 knots. Cloudy. A chance of snow showers in the evening, then snow showers likely after midnight. Waves building to 2 to 3 feet, then subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Saturday: East wind 10 to 15 knots backing northwest in the afternoon. Cloudy. A chance of snow showers in the morning, then a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
