Stormy Weather Along the East Coast; Mountain Snow and Valley Rain in the West

Showers and thunderstorms will linger along the east coast through this evening. Locally heavy rain is possible and may lead to isolated instances of flooding, especially in the Mid-Atlantic through the New England region. A front moving across the west will keep mountain snow and low elevation rain chances in the forecast through Friday. Heavy rain is expected in central/southern California.

Late This Afternoon: West winds 20 to 30 knots. Waves 3 to 6 feet occasionally to 8 feet.

Tonight: Northwest winds 10 to 20 knots diminishing to 5 to 15 knots late. Waves subsiding to calm to 2 feet.

Friday: North winds 5 to 15 knots veering east in the afternoon, then increasing to 10 to 20 knots late. Waves building to 2 to 4 feet.

Friday Night: East winds 10 to 20 knots increasing to 15 to 25 knots late. A chance of snow showers through midnight, then snow showers likely after midnight. Waves building to 3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet.

Saturday: East winds 10 to 20 knots backing northeast by mid afternoon. Snow showers likely through early afternoon, then a slight chance of snow showers by mid afternoon. Waves subsiding to calm to 2 feet.

Saturday Night: West winds 5 to 15 knots veering northwest after midnight. Waves calm to 2 feet.

Sunday: Northwest winds 10 to 20 knots backing south by mid afternoon. Waves calm to 2 feet.

Sunday Night: Northeast winds 10 to 20 knots. Waves calm to 2 feet.

Monday: Northeast winds 10 to 20 knots. A chance of rain showers. Waves building to 1 to 3 feet, then subsiding to calm to 2 feet.

Tuesday: Northeast winds 10 to 20 knots backing north. Waves building to 1 to 3 feet.
