Winter Storm To Impact Parts Of The Midwest To Northern New England

A winter storm will slowly develop over the Ohio Valley through Wednesday before rapidly strengthening while shifting into southeastern Canada Thursday. A band of snow will develop over the Midwest today into Wednesday, with snow shifting to the interior Northeast on Wednesday night and Thursday. Heavy lake effect snow is expected in the eastern Great Lakes snow belts on Thursday and Friday.

Wednesday: Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Rain with snow likely in the morning, then rain in the afternoon. Waves 4 to 7 feet. Waves occasionally around 9 feet.

Wednesday Night: Northeast winds 15 to 25 knots becoming west. Rain in the evening, then rain and snow overnight. Waves 4 to 7 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet. Waves occasionally around 9 feet.

Thursday: West gales to 35 knots. Snow. Waves 5 to 8 feet building to 9 to 13 feet. Waves occasionally around 16 feet.

Friday: West winds 15 to 25 knots becoming northwest. Lake effect snow. Waves 6 to 9 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet. Waves occasionally around 11 feet.

Saturday: Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots. Lake effect snow during the day, then lake effect snow showers saturday night. Waves 2 to 4 feet building to 3 to 5 feet, then subsiding to 2 to 4 feet. Waves occasionally around 6 feet. the water temperature off rochester is 36 degrees.
